St James Day Walks

St James Day, 25th July, is the most special date of the year on the Camino de Santiago and the biggest festival in Santiago de Compostela and Galicia. We are inviting Camino de Santiago fans, walking enthusiasts and families in Ireland to celebrate St James with us again this year in Laragh and the Wicklow Mountains.  Participants can choose between two fantastic walking trails a 13 km and 8 km.  Families can join the 8km trail with under 16s (we don’t recommend bringing very small children on the walk).  After the walks, there will be food with a Spanish flavour at the Brockagh Centre.and prizes to be won!  To find out more check out www.caminoways.com.

Car Boot Sale

The next Car Boot Sale at the Brockagh Centre takes place on Sunday 2 August from 10am until 4pm.  Great bargains, home baking and many items new or nearly new.  Indoor spaces must be booked and paid in advance.  Vans must be booked in.  Call (0404) 45600.

Butterfly Workshop

Did you know that Ireland has approximately 35 species of butterfly, including some species that have only colonised in the past few years? Join us on Saturday 25 July to learn more about these beautiful and fascinating creatures and how to identify them. This workshop is for adults only and will take place in the Education Centre from 11 am to 1 pm. It will start with a lecture inside which, weather permitting, will be followed by an identification walk. Dogs are not allowed. Booking is essential call on 0404-45425 only.

Wicklow Man

The Wicklow Man is back at the Brockagh Centre on Tuesday 28 July so come along and enjoy the fun.

Yoga

Dancercise

Dancercise with Adam continues on Wednesday nights at 7 p.m. at the Brockagh Centre.  A great workout and great fun.

Summer Camp at Wonder Years
Wonder Years Childcare at the Brockagh Centre is holding weekly fun camps during the months of July & August. Camp Times are from 9.30am-12.30pm (extended hours available).  Only 70 euro per week.  Bring your own snack.  Your child’s Summer experience begins in a creative environment of excitement and fun – building friendships and self-confidence.  A fun filled Summer Programme for campers 5-12 years old.  Children aged 2-4 years are welcome to join our year round pre-montessori class.  Our full-time childcare opening hours are from 7.30am -6.30pm.  Contact Valerie on 083 4407662 / wonderyearswicklow@gmail.com.

Nature Explorers

Nature Explorers is a new outdoor programme in the National Park which aims to teach children (aged 5 to 11 years) to identify and appreciate the natural world. Meet at the large National Park sign in the corner of the Upper Lake car park on Thursdays during July and August, starting at 2 p.m.  Most activities will take place off track, so please dress accordingly. Adults and children are welcome. Note that an adult must stay with the children, and be prepared to help! No dogs are allowed. Booking is essential and will be taken from 9 am one week prior to each session on 0404-45656 (Monday to Friday). All above events are free to attend but the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Co.) has a 4 euro charge.

AA Meetings

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.  If you think that you may have a problem with alcohol please come along.
