Wicklow Mountains National Park

Wicklow’s wild deer are particularly impressive in autumn when they ‘rut’. National Park staff will have telescopes set up on the Spinc walking trail (3 hours long, white arrows) between 11 am and 4 pm on Saturday 10 October and will be available to discuss the Park’s wild deer and their ecology with anyone walking the route who wishes to stop-by and view the deer. Directions to the telescopes should be obtained from the Information Office before setting out. All are welcome but dogs must be kept on leads. Hiking boots and rain gear are recommended. Bring binoculars if you have them. The event is free to attend but the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Co.) has a 4 euro charge.
