Glendalough Christmas Fair on December 11th

Active Retirement Laragh/Glendalough

We send our sympathy to our chairperson Ann Hanlon on the death of her husband Eddie. We extend our condolences to Veronica and her family on the death of her mother Della Nolan.

Active Retirement outings

The next AR Laragh/Glendalough lunch date will be on Tuesday the 1st of November. The trip to meet our Active Retirement friends in Sallynoggin was postponed until a later date.

Juvenile Handball Training

Tai Chi and QiGong                                                                                                                              Tai Chi and QiGong classes are held at the Brockagh on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. This ancient form of exercise can enhance any professional sport injury and repair or can be very helpful if you have postural problems. Tai Chi will help your body renew itself with powerful whole body movements. Messy Play at Happy Days

Messy Play is coming to the Brockagh Centre on November, wed 16th at 11am.  The classes give babies, toddlers and preschoolers the opportunity to come together and discover everyday materials in a new and exciting way within a fun, friendly and relaxed environment.  Each class has various areas of play spaciously laid out which offer messy/sensory/tactile materials to explore. At Messy Play you can expect to find, painting, water, sand, dough, gloop, jelly, flour, spaghetti, mud and much more, each class is different. The class lasts for 1 hour and all children must be accompanied by an adult. All cleaning up is taken care of so you can come along, enjoy the fun and leave guilt free. Wicklow County Council Joint Policing Committee Meeting

Will be held in Roundwood Parish Hall and Centre on Wed 2nd of November 2016 commencing at 8pm. The purpose of the JPC is to provide a forum where the local authority and the senior Garda officers, responsible for the policing of that area, can consult and make recommendations on matters affecting the policing of the area and in particular to keep under review the levels and patterns of crime, disorder and anti-social behavior occurring and the factors underlying and contributing to it.

Tea Dance

On the 27th of November there will be a tea dance at the Brockagh Resource Centre from 3pm to 6pm with music by The Wicklow Man. Pre-Christmas fun before a busy December kicks in, a spacious hall where you can dance away the afternoon, brightening the winter months with old and new friends. Groups from any area are very welcome, large or small just call 0404 45600 to book in a group.

 

Evening Yoga with Viva                                                                                                                                                            Viva’s yoga classes for beginners to advanced resume on 21st Sept at 7pm. Wear comfortable clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night.

High Intensity Fitness Dane (H.I.F.D)

Just pop in on Wednesday evenings at 7pm to dance your socks off with Adam and the class in cardio exercise dancing, dropping those extra calories. You don’t need to be a good dancer or very fit just dance along at your own pace and enjoy the music.

Car Boot

Our next Glendalough Car Boot at the Brockagh Centre will be on Sunday 6th of November, don’t miss out on home baking, Christmas decorations and some early festive gifts. Vans must be booked in.  Book indoor spaces early but if you would rather be outside just show up in the morning at 8am. Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600.

Why not ECDL?                                                                                                                              You may need to get back into the workforce after a period of absence so why not do a certified course that is just on your doorstep. Doing certain modules can pinpoint what skills you need for a particular job or that new job you are looking for. Citizens Information Centre Increased Service

If you wish to see how the budget 2016 effects you come along to C.I.C office in the Brockagh Resource Centre on the first and third Tuesday  of each month from 10-12 providing valuable personal advice relating to your rights and entitlements on a large range of matters. No appointment necessary. This is a free and confidential service. For more information go to www. citizensinformation.ie. The next service will be on the Tuesday 1st of November at 10am to 12pm.

 

Mindful Athletic Performance

This course is for athletes who would like to get more from their sports performance, be more present and in the moment when training or competing, learn to modify their behaviour with awareness, overcome negative beliefs or thoughts that are holding your performance back, would like to achieve and realize their goals.
