Important Community Meeting

There will be a community meeting regarding the closure of Laragh/Glendalough post office in the Brockagh Resource Centre on Thursday 12th of January at 7.30pm and all are welcome to come along. The post office is due to close at the end of January 2017.

 

Snow White & the Babes in the Wood                                                                                                                                               We welcome back The Roundwood Variety Group in January for another fantastic show on Fri 27th to Sun 29th of January 2017. This year it will be Snow White and The Babes in the Wood, another hilarious panto written by the talented Thomas O Leary. Tidy Towns A.G.M.

Laragh/Glendalough Tidy Towns A.G.M. takes place on Tues 17th of January in the Brockagh Centre. We need some new committee members so please do come along. Local councillors have been invited to a follow on meeting at 8.15pm.

Walking group in the Brockagh    

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the walking group with Get Ireland Walking at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour. In association with Get Ireland Walking, Wicklow Local Sports Partnership & Brockagh Resource Centre. All ages and abilities are welcome. If you would like to set up a walking group in Wicklow contact us on wicklowlsp@wicklowcoco.ie for more information. The walking group will be starting back for 2017 on the 9th of January.

Pilates at the Brockagh Centre                                                                                                                       

Starting in January 2017, Marie Noonan will be teaching Pilates at the Brockagh Resource Centre. Marie has 17 years fully qualified experience in helping people rehabilitate, heal and transform in mind, body and soul. There will be a choice of morning and evening classes available. Tae kwon-Do for Youths and Adults

Teens and adults will enjoy Taekwon-Do, a Korean art of self-defence. Benefits include improving confidence, respect, discipline, awareness, concentration, channeling aggression, balance, coordination, speed, reactions, fitness and health. Call Master Kenneth Wheatley on 087-2547347 for further information. Classes are on Tuesdays at 7.45-8.45pm (Seniors & Teens). Classes for 2017 will return Jan 10th.

GAA Training                                                  

Training for the under 8yrs will be returning back on the 3rd of February.

 

Happy Days                                                                            

Happy Days is from 10.30 to 12.00 weekly. We would like to invite people with babies and young child to come for a social morning with their children for some play, chat and of course light refreshments. Evening Yoga with Viva                                                                                                      

Viva’s yoga classes for beginners to advanced on Wednesday evenings in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 7pm. Wear comfortable clothes on the night and bring a blanket. Mats are available on the night. Classes will return on January 11th.

 

Citizens Information                    

 The Citizens Information Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10am until noon on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The first clinic of 2017 will take place on Tuesday 17th January at 10am until noon  and will continue thereafter on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.

We Love Art        

Art and crafts classes for children are on Monday afternoons at the Brockagh Centre from 1.45 to 3.45.. Classes cover a wide range of art and craft forms. We work with lots of different materials and learn new skills and techniques with every project. It’s all about the joy of making! Phone/text Almha

Adult Art Classes

Drama School                                                            

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. 

Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Elevation holds a 100% pass rate in IBSD examinations. Elevation Drama Junior (5.45-6.45pm) is held at the Brockagh Centre. Contact Kate on 086 8256775. Classes will return on Jan 11th.

 

Elevation Dance School

Morning Yoga      

This is a gently paced class for beginners to advanced at the Brockagh Centre.  The class will provide gentle stretching, improved strength and flexibility, as well as help students to find balance and calm in everyday life.  Thursdays from 10 to 11.15am. Chair Yoga  

Chair Yoga at the Brockagh Centre is suitable for those who may find regular yoga classes too strenuous – those who may be completely new to yoga, recovering from injury or illness or generally less active and mobile. Tai Chi and QiGong

 Tai Chi and QiGong classes are held at the Brockagh on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. Tai Chi will help your body renew itself with powerful whole body movements. Badminton  Junior and Seniors  

Badminton classes are on Mon evenings in the Brockagh Centre at 7pm (Junior 4th class up) with Seniors from 8pm and on Thursday evenings with a repeat of the same classes. Classes for 2017 will return Monday, Jan 9th. There will be no badminton classes on the week of 23rd January.

H.I.F.D (High Intensity Fitness Dance)                                                                                       Get into shape after Christmas and loose some holiday pounds with Adam in cardio exercise dancing. You don’t need to be a good dancer or very fit just dance along at your own pace and enjoy the music. Wednesday nights at 7.00pm.
