Christmas Afternoon Tea Dance

Join us at our pre-Christmas tea dance on Sunday November 19th from 3pm to 6pm. Cover charge of only €5 with refreshments provided. All groups must book in advance with the Brockagh Centre by calling us on 0404 45600.

29th Annual Supper Dance

St. John’s Church, Laragh is holding their annual supper dance in Lynham’s Hotel, Laragh on Friday 17th of November 2017 from 8pm to 1am, with music by John Flood. Tickets are €22.50 which includes a hamper. The event is in aid of St. John’s Church, Laragh.

The Glendalough Trail 2017

The Glendalough Trail race is a 15.5km race which takes place on Saturday 4th November, 2017 with registration and refreshments at the Brockagh Centre,Laragh. Not only will it be a fun, enjoyable day but we hope to raise much needed funds for Fighting Blindness. Wicklow Willow Courses 2017

A Beginners Skib Workshop: This workshop is very enjoyable and covers some basic basket making techniques. Dates available are November 11th, January 14th and 21st. Reindeer Sculpture Workshop: Participants will build their own reindeer from willow for their garden for Christmas. This  Some previous experience in basket making would be beneficial. November 19th. Willow Christmas Tree Workshop: half day workshop. Participants will learn to apply basic weaving techniques to create a conical shaped willow free standing tree. December 2nd. Beginners Sciathog Shopping Basket Workshop: Participants will learn to make a small shopping basket on a round or oval frame with a handle. A good beginner’s workshop. December 9th.

Wicklow Willow Courses 2018

Intermediate Round Shopping Basket Workshop: It is more intense than other workshops and it would require previous experience making baskets. February 3rd. Scarecrow Building Workshop: this workshop for those of you who are interested in decorating your garden come the Spring with a beautiful willow scarecrow March 24th and 25th.

Co.Wicklow Older Person’s Council Seminar 2017

Celebrating 10 years on the 24th of November in the Glendalough Hotel, registration at 9.45 and 10.15, ending at 3pm. Registration for the seminar in advance, forms can be completed by individuals or groups. Forms to be returned to Richella Wood by November 10th either by post or by email to agefriendly@wicklowcoco.ie. Admission €5 and can be paid on the day. Babushka boxes will also be collected on the day.

 

 

Christmas Fair

We are still taking bookings for this year’s Christmas Fair on Sunday the 10th Dec. As a customer you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value. Bring along the family to see Santa arriving in a carriage at 1pm. Morning Yoga with Louise

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga                                                                                                                                 

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. AA Meetings                                                                                                                            

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.

 

Tai Chi and QiGong                                                                                                                        

Tai Chi and QiGong classes are very powerful tools which help to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. To learn more about the classes contact Ann Martin 087 608 1219 (conrymartin@gmail.com). Classes are held on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Brockagh Centre, call Ann to book in.

 

Badminton  Junior and Seniors                                                                                         

Badminton classes are on Mon evenings in the Brockagh Centre at 7pm (Junior 4th class up) with Seniors from 8pm and on Thursday evenings with a repeat of the same classes. Contact Finian on 086 247 6822.

 

McGrath-Flood School of Irish Dancing

Irish Dancing in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh from 9am-10am. Classes are for beginners and are for age 3yrs up.
