Cabaret Night

A cabaret in aid of the Roundwood Senior Citizens Christmas party will take place in the Royal Hotel,  Glendalough on Saturday, 25th of November with music by Little Apples. The event opens at 8.30pm, free admission with a raffle on the night.

Santa Is Coming To Brockagh

Come and welcome Santa and his two horse carriage at the Glendalough Christmas Fair, Sunday the 10th of December at 1pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Santa is inviting all children from 1pm to 3pm to visit with him in his grotto.

 Movie Night at the Brockagh Centre Laragh

Christmas Movie Night to raise funds for Elevation Dance Team. We are looking to raise funds for uniforms, Westend and Disney opportunities, also for competitions at national level. Showing movie will be Elf on Dec 2nd, a family favourite! Doors will open at 5pm with entrance fee of  €4.50 which includes a hot chocolate. Wear your favourite Christmas pyjamas. 

 

Christmas Fair

The Brockagh Resource Centre is having their annual Glendalough Christmas Fair on Sunday the 10th Dec. We welcome the locality and visitors to shop locally where you will find unique presents and gifts at very good value while enjoying a very festive day out. Stallholders will be selling their baking, jewellery, wreaths, woodturning, knits, candles, decorations, photography and more on the day. Santa arriving in a carriage at 1pm. Razzle Dazzle Annual Christmas Showcase

“The Razzle Dazzle Academy presents their Annual Christmas Showcase, featuring all our wonderful Dazzlers, on Saturday 16th December in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh. Show starts at 3pm (doors open 2.45pm) Promises to be lots of fun, filled with song, drama and laughter and guaranteed to get you in the Christmas Spirit! Tickets available at the door.” 

 

Christmas Carols by candlelight in the Monastic City

A great way to start Christmas, in one of the most evocative settings in Wicklow. We invite you to join us on Tuesday 19th December at 7.30pm for a unique event to celebrate Christmas. Beginning with a candlelit procession through the monastic gates we will proceed to the ruins of the candlelit Cathedral for an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style. Tea, coffee will be provided afterwards in the Glendalough Hotel courtesy of Pat Casey. This a free event and open to everyone, including children, which must be accompanied by an adult. Assemble in the Glendalough Hotel car park at 7.15pm. Wrap up warm and bring your own lantern/torch and singing voice.

 Glendalough – Art and Atmosphere

Rathdrum Historical Society will present a lecture by Joan Kavanagh in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh on Glendalough – Art and Atmosphere using images from the exhibition currently on display in the Centre. The exhibition and talk is based on a selection of paintings and drawings held by the National Library and the National Gallery of Ireland. The lecture will be given on Monday, 4th December in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh at 8 pm, followed by tea/coffee and festive mince pies. Please note the change from the Society’s Rathdrum v enue. There will be a charge of €3 at the door and all are welcome.

 

Beauty and the Beast Pantomime 2018

Co.Wicklow Older Person’s Council Seminar 2017

Celebrating 10 years on the 24th of November in the Glendalough Hotel, registration at 9.45 and 10.15, ending at 3pm. Registration for the seminar in advance, forms can be completed by individuals or groups. Forms to be returned to Richella Wood by November 10th either by post or by email to agefriendly@wicklowcoco.ie. Admission €5 and can be paid on the day. Babushka boxes will also be collected on the day.

 

Pilates at the Brockagh 

Marie Noonan is a qualified Pilate’s teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilitation, health and longevity. The duration of the class is seven weeks and will start at 9.15am to 10.15am and another class at and 10.15 to 11.15am in the Brockagh Resource Centre. We Love Art                                                                                                                         

Classes on Monday afternoons are for Primary school children. They are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. Classes held in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh are small, and divided by age group. In the classes we work with lots of different art and craft forms. Adult Art                                                                                                                                            

This painting class will help you to find your own artistic style in your preferred medium. It is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters. Take up a new hobby or develop your skills and techniques in a friendly and informal group. Drama School                                                                                                                         

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher.
