The Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh would like to thank everyone who supported our events and classes throughout the year, to all our groups who provide activities in the centre, to the board of management who volunteer their time and effort and any others who volunteered their time to the centre and to those who drop in to say “hi”. It has been a great year with the opening of our new extension. This would not have been possible but for all the hard work by the board of management. We welcome Suzy Kenna, Tiny Feet Montessori and Preschool and wish her every success in her business. We also welcome our new tenants upstairs, Adventure.ie, who have opened a great outdoor activity shop. Drop in to Ronan and Cindy’s shop any day except Mondays or Tuesdays.Kwetb (Kildare & Wicklow Education & Training Board) wish to support any activities or training ideas that people have in their community through their training services. Christmas Raffle in aid of St. Kevin’s Church
The raffle is in aid of St. Kevin’s Church and will take place in Glendalough Hotel on Tues 19th. Dec after Carol Singing. Tickets are on sale at the Christmas Craft Fair in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh on Sun 10th of Dec, in local shops and in the Parish Office. Your support will be very much appreciated.
Christmas Carols by candlelight in the Monastic City
A great way to start Christmas, in one of the most evocative settings in Wicklow. We invite you to join us on Tuesday 19th December at 7.30pm for a unique event to celebrate Christmas. Beginning with a candlelit procession through the monastic gates we will proceed to the ruins of the candlelit Cathedral for an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style. Tea, coffee will be provided afterwards in the Glendalough Hotel courtesy of Pat Casey. This a free event and open to everyone, including children, which must be accompanied by an adult. Assemble in the Glendalough Hotel car park at 7.15pm. Wrap up warm and bring your own lantern/torch and singing voice.
Beauty and the Beast Pantomime 2018
Join Roundwood Variety Group for this year’s spectacular family panto! Always a fantastic show for all the family in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. This year the show is on January 26th, 27th and 28th. Contact the group at email@example.com.
Pilates at the Brockagh
Pilates class has now moved to Thursday morning and will start back in Jan. Marie Noonan is a qualified Pilate’s teacher and has been teaching for the last 17 years and works full time as a movement therapist for rehabilitation, health and longevity. We Love Art
Classes on Monday afternoons (back 8th Jan 2018) are for Primary school children. They are taught by artist and qualified art teacher Almha Roche. Classes held in the Brockagh Centre, Laragh are small, and divided by age group. In the classes we work with lots of different art and craft forms. This painting class (back 10th of Jan) will help you to find your own artistic style in your preferred medium. It is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters. Take up a new hobby or develop your skills and techniques in a friendly and informal group. Drama classes(back Jan 10th) are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Our Modern Dance classes(back Jan 10th) focus on Jazz, Lyrical, and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style.
