Don’t miss our first Car Boot of the year on Sun 4th of March. Bargains to be snapped up on items like, collectables, clothes and accessories, books, candles, gifts for upcoming birthdays and of course get your appetite working with some delicious, wholesome home baking. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Tidy Towns Laragh

Laragh received 3rd place and €250 in the Main Street, Small Town section at the recent awards ceremony in Council Buildings, Wicklow. Competition was stiff as the interest around the county in keeping public areas clean and attractive is growing. We hope this year to build on the success of 2017’s achievements. The second ‘Welcome to Laragh’ stone has been erected on the approach road from Annamoe and looks very well. Tidy Towns meeting takes place at 8 pm on 1st March in the Brockagh Resource Centre. Everyone is welcome.

Part-time Maintenance Person

St. Kevin’s Parish has a vacancy for a temporary, part-time maintenance person. The applicant must be in receipt of an appropriate social welfare (DEASP) payment to qualify for the Community Employment scheme. Maintenance Person/Car Park Attendant

The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenance person/car park attendant. Applications must be received by noon on Friday 23rd March. Applicants must be eligible for the Community Services Programme (eligibility is confined to those in receipt of certain DEASP payments, e.g. a jobseeker’s payment, one parent family payment, disability allowance, invalidity pension, etc., stabilised or recovering drug mis-users and ex-prisoners). It is also essential to have good people skills and be a good time-keeper. Duties will include interior maintenance, lifting (moving tables and chairs), gardening and supervision of the car park on certain weekends. Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour.

Fifth Annual Laragh Trail Run

Come along for the Laragh Trail Run at 10 am on Saturday March 3rd and enjoy the 6 km or 12 km routes. You will find a great atmosphere, access to beautiful trails in the Wicklow Mountains and a friendly welcome back at Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa’s reception for all runners, joggers and walkers. Registration is via www.active.com but will also be taken on the day. All proceeds go to the school. This event is organised by the Parents’ Association, and brings together the community and the walkers, runners and visitors who spend time in this scenic part of Co. Wicklow. The event is open to all and is suitable for all levels of fitness.

Free Computer Course

Our next free 5-week digital skills computer course will be starting on 9th of March (anyone already booked in will be notified of starting date shortly). This informal course include online banking, apps, online government services, email, shopping online, online TV players, podcasts, photographs, security and much more. This course is for beginners or someone who is rarely online and wants to up skill. Call the Brockagh Resource Centre on 0404 45600 or email laraghit@eircom.net.

StrictlyLypSync Laragh Fundraiser

Laragh GFC & Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa want to say a special ‘thank you’ to everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets for all the events over the last 2 months in our big joint fundraising venture with, StrictlyLypSync Laragh. A huge amount of time and effort has been put in by the contestants and both committees. Well done to all involved.

Evening Yoga with Viva                                                                               

Viva’s yoga classes are for beginners to intermediate on Wednesdays at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre. Improve your fitness strength and flexibility in a relaxing way. High Intensity Fitness Dane (H.I.F.D)  

Get fit with Adam on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre Laragh with cardio exercise dancing, helping to drop some calories. You do not need to be a good dancer or very fit, dance at your own pace and enjoy the music. You can contact Adam on 083 3057949 for information.

Citizen’s Information Clinic

The Citizens Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 am until noon on the first and third Tuesday of each month. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.
