Glendalough Car Boot Sales         

Join fellow shoppers for car boot day on Sun, 5th of August, open from 10am to 4pm. Come early to find your bargains on practically anything from household items to garden additions, and even vintage or antique treasures. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600 or email laraghit@eircom.net if you wish to book an indoor space or if you prefer to sell outside just show up at 8am on the morning.

 

Maintenance Person/Car Park Attendant

The Brockagh Resource Centre wishes to recruit a part-time maintenance person/car park attendant. Applicants must be eligible for the Community Services Programme (eligibility is confined to those in receipt of certain DEASP payments, Contact the manager, Pauline Fahy, on 0404- 45600 for further information or email brockaghresourcecentre@gmail.com.

High Intensity Fitness Dane (H.I.F.D)                                                                                                                                                       Just pop in on Wednesday evenings at 7pm in the Brockagh Centre to dance your socks off with Adam and the class in cardio exercise dancing, dropping those extra calories. You do not need to be a good dancer or very fit, dance at your own pace and enjoy the music. You can contact Adam on 083 3057949 for information.

 

Evening Yoga with Viva

Viva’s yoga classes(beginners/intermediate) are now finished for the Summer holidays but she will be back to us at the Brockagh Centre on Tuesdays at 7pm on the 11th of September. You can contact Viva on 086 3409629 for more information.

 

Walking  group in the Brockagh

On Monday mornings weekly at 10am join the Laragh walking group at the Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around Glendalough area for approximately one hour.

 

Citizen’s Information Clinic                                                                                                     

The Citizens Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 am until noon on the first and third Tuesday of each month. No appointment is necessary for this free and confidential service.

 

 

A Celebration of Harps

The Bray Harp Ensemble in association with Bre Comhaltas Ceoltoiri will present new work composed by Rachel Duffy and the musicians of the ensemble at the Brockagh Resource Centre on August 24th. Free tickets, donations welcome, booking essential, go to www.eventbrite.com to book. The composition will celebrate the past and present harpists of Ireland and especially the 1st Synod of Harpists from Ireland, England and Wales, who gathered in the 11th century in Glendalough. There will also be special guest performers. Refreshments and reception held at 7:30pm before the concert at 8pm. This event is funded by the Creative Ireland Programme.

 

Wicklow Connections Photo Competition

Wicklow Uplands Council invites you to send us photos which depict aspects of Wicklow’s diverse Cultural Heritage. It might be of the stunning landscape, a town or village scene, people at work or play in the landscape, a building, an archaeological site or monument, an activity associated with Wicklow etc., Essentially your ‘connection’ with Co Wicklow. Entrants are encouraged to provide a short caption (60 words max) which provides insight into the story behind the image. Entries to the competition will be selected to form an exhibition on the Cultural Heritage Theme ‘Wicklow Connections’ which will be launched at The Brockagh Resource Centre for National Heritage Week 2018 (www.heritageweek.ie).

 

Taking care of your Emotional Health and Well Being 

This workshop will introduce you to the basic emotional needs which we all have, including the need for security, connection to others, attention. Understanding these needs and how to meet them in balance results in emotional well-being and improved mental health. So come along to this fun and relaxed 10 week course and take back charge of your life! Starting on September 19th, 10.00- 12.30pm.
