Environmental Talks

Talks on Improving Recycling in the Home by Jim Callery and Understanding Climate Change by Catherine Devitt. On April 11th, Laragh Tidy Towns will host a workshop on how to reduce waste and improve recycling in the home. The talk will take place in the Brockagh Resource Centre, starting at 7.30pm. The workshop will be followed by a short talk on climate change. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Elevation Mini Easter Camp

Three jam packed days of Dance, Drama, Musical Theatre, Acro, Games, Arts & Crafts and much more! Fun for all ages from 4 years of age. The camp will be from Monday 15th of April to Wednesday 17th of April at the Brockagh Resource Centre, 9.30 to 1.30pm each day.  Talk with Eanna ni Lamnha and Broadcaster Martin King

Join Eanna ni Lamhna for an entertaining evening in conversation with broadcaster Martin King. Eanna will be chatting to Martin about wildlife, her book and top five favourite reads. Eanna is a renowned author and wildlife expert and is known for ther passion for herr field and work in conservation. She has a witty character and is larger than life in conversation. Martin King is a broadcaster with Virgin Media he hosts the Six O’Clock Show weekdays and also has a mid morning slot on Q102.

 

Temple na Skellig

Glendalough Heritage Forum (GHF) invites you to a public lecture, Temple na Skellig: new understandings of Francoise Henry’s 1950s’ excavations which will take place at 7 pm on Friday 26th April in the Brockagh Resource Centre. The talk will highlight the results of a new project which finally publishes Henry’s excavations and will also offer very brief news of the ongoing GHF/UCD excavations at Glendalough. In addition, it is planned to ask for help in identifying members of the local workforce who staffed her excavations and who appear in many of the photographs of the site. Mobile Library

The mobile library visits Lynhams car park every second Thursday from 12 noon to 12.50 pm. The next visits will take place on April the 11th and 25th.

 

Morning Yoga with Louise

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10 to 11.15 am. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga                                                                                                                                 

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30 am to 12.45 pm. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing on Saturday mornings from  9am-10am. Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night all year round. Just come along everyone welcome.

 

Badminton  Junior and Seniors
