Laragh Glendalough Sustainable Energy Group

On Wed 11th of March at 7.30pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh the group will host an information evening where the Laragh and Glendalough community can hear about the ways they can get directly involved in the next stage of the project.

A Morning with Sarah McCormack

Join us for a morning with Mountain Running World Cup Champion and Endurance Running Coach, Sarah McCormack at the Brockagh Centre, Laragh from 9-12pm on Sun 22nd March. There will be a 2-hour run on the trails that surround Glendalough and Laragh. Sarah will offer tips on running form and functionality, ascending, descending, pacing and kit. This will be a relaxed run, with opportunities to chat with Sarah along the way. After a short break to change clothes, the group will have tea or coffee and biscuits. In conversation, Sarah will share her running story with the group, along with advice on training, racing and mindset. There will be time for questions and chats. Like all our events, Trail & Talk is catered specifically to women. Level – improver to advanced with moderate terrain and the distance will be determined by the overall pace of the group. There is a 30-day refund policy, less the Eventbrite booking fee.

Laragh Glendalough Active Retired

Active Retirement group meet every Tuesday morning at 10.45am in the Brockagh Centre and they have a great line up of activities each week. If you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, dancing and music come along on Tuesdays. The group meet for lunch once a month at various local venues (new members welcome). This year the group will be going on the annual mini hotel break from 7th to the 10th June to Killarney, Co. Kerry. This will be a 3 night 4 day break, Breakfast/Dinner and all excursions and trips are included in the price. There are limited spaces available if you’re interested in going. SOSA Fitness Charity Event

Come along and get ready to ‘Dance Yourself Happy’ with SOSA Fitness in aid of Brain Tumour Ireland in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh on Sat 21st March at 2.30-4.30pm. Adult Art Classes

Moved now to Mon morning, drawing and painting classes are suitable for beginners as well as, more, experienced painters.  Students choose the medium(s) with which they wish to work, and develop their interests and personal style with Almha’s advice and guidance.  If you are thinking of getting back into your art, or trying something new to explore your creative side, now is a good time!  Classes are at 11-12.30pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Wicklow Willow
Our spring courses are for improvers and beginners. The next available dates are; March 1st, 7th and April 19th. All courses are full day (9 am to 5 pm) and take place in the Brockagh Centre. They include materials, tuition, tea/coffee and lunch (with cake)! You will make and bring home your own basket on the day. Places are limited, so please book early to get the dates you want. Fee Sustainable Community Gardening Course

Wicklow County Council are offering a free sustainable community gardening course to local residents with the kind support of Laragh Community Gardens. This course, has been featured on RTE Nationwide. Time will be split between, walks and talks, classroom discussions and practical sessions. Sessions will focus on improving community areas for biodiversity, alternatives to spraying planting for bees, the benefits of trees, wildflower gardens, urban food production, hedgerows and much more. Mobile Library

The mobile library visits Lynhams car park every second Thursday from 12.15 noon to 12.50 pm. The next visits will take place 13th and 27th of February 2020.

Morning Yoga with Louise

Louise’s yoga class will be held every Thursday from 10-11.15 am in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh.. This is a gently-paced class where students learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually while stabilizing the platforms of the feet and ankles, hips and pelvis and shoulder girdle. The class begins with general and targeted warm-up sequences followed by postures (Asanas) and Vinyasa (breath-connected) sequences before final relaxation in Savasana. Chair Yoga                                                                                                                                 

Our very popular Chair Yoga class will take place on Thursdays from 11.30-12.45 pm in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Chair Yoga is suitable for almost everyone and helps students find balance and calm in everyday life. The class takes students through centering and breath-work, followed by postures that let the joints move through their range of movement whilst seated or through use of the chair whilst standing. Irish Dancing Classes

Irish Dancing on Saturday mornings from  9-10am. AA Meetings                                                                                                                             

Closed AA Meetings take place in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night all year round. Everyone is welcome to join the group.

Laragh Badminton Club

Badminton classes are in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh with  Monday evenings: Juniors 7-8pm (1st yr secondary students), 8-9pm (5th & 6th Class-national school) on Thurs evenings:  6.45-7.45pm(4th class national school), 7.15-8.15pm (teenagers secondary school), Adults 8-9pm.
