Car Boot Sale

The next Car Boot Sale will take place on Sunday 6 July 2014.  Vans must be booked in.  A great opportunity to get rid of the clutter.  The car boot sale is also a great place to get a bargain with many items nearly new and some new. We also have great food stalls with  home-baking, jams, plants and crafts.  There will also be an extra  Car Boot Sale on Sunday 13 July which will be run in conjunction with the Brockagh Centre’s annual  Fun Dog  Show.  Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600 for further information.

 

Doggies Day Out – Fun Dog Show

Doggies Day Out at the Brockagh Centre takes place on Sunday July 13 alongside the Glendalough Car Boot & Country Market.  Registration takes place at 2.30 pm and the show gets on the road at 3 pm sharp.   The Dog Show this year is in aid of  ASH Animal Rescue.  Categories include Large Dog, Small Dog, Fancy Dress (any costume which restricts the dog’s movement or causes discomfort cannot enter), Best Tricks,  Dog led by child, Rescue Dog, Dog You Would Love to Take Home.  Entry fee €3 per dog per class or 3 entries for €8.  All entry fees and proceeds from raffle go to ASH Animal Rescue.  For further information contact Michelle at the Brockagh Resource Centre 0404 45600.

 

Wonder Years Childcare

Wonder Years at the Brockagh Centre is now taking enrolments for September. Mass for Healing

The visit of Dana Rosemary Scallon to God’s Cottage has been postponed until November 9.  On Saturday July 5,  instead of the afternoon with Dana, Mass for Healing will be celebrated by Fr. Thady Doyle in God’s Cottage at 3.00 p.m., followed by a Eucharistic Healing Ceremony.  Exposition and Confessions from 2.15 p.m.

 

Summer Camps

Elevation School of Dance are running a Summer Camp in the Brockagh Centre on Monday to Friday, 14 to 18 July, 2014 from 10 a.m until 1 p.m.  The camps will cover Dance covering Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary & Ballet, Drama exploring IBSD Technique and Peformance, Musical Theatre & Music editing, Dance Craft & Prop Making and much more.  €65 per child with discounts for siblings.   Price includes music CD’s, all arts and crafts supplies and use of costumes for the end of week show.   Teachers are fully insured, vetted and trained in First Aid. Glendalough Arts Summer Festival

The Glendalough Arts Summer Festival promises a great day of free festival fun from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday July 19th.  It will take place on the green behind the Glendalough Hotel.  There will be lots of community music/music acts, talks, guided walks, kids’ games and arts & crafts stalls.  Feel free to dress-up – maybe as Vikings, fairies and princesses or in Celtic summer costumes.  Teas, coffees, cakes and hot food will be on sale.  Volunteers will be needed from early morning to help set up tents, etc.  The festival ends with a walk to St. Kevin’s Well around 5.30 pm.  Everyone is very welcome.  For more information phone Martin on 087-2600548, Pauline on 086-210322 or email glendaloughartsnetwork@gmail.com; stall-holders should contact Deborah on 086-8432853 or check out the news section on  www.glendaloughartsnetwork.com.

 

National Park

Wicklow Mountains National Park.  Family Fun Days will take place in the Education Centre each Thursday from 10 July to 21 August (2 to 4 p.m).  Parents are invited to bring their children (aged 4 to 12 years) to a mixed afternoon of nature-based activities.  Please note that an adult must stay with the children, and be prepared to help. No dogs are allowed.  Booking is essential and will be taken from 9 am one week prior to each session on 0404-45656 (Monday to Friday).  Bug Day.  Come and meet some of the National Park’s mini-creatures on Sunday 20th July.  Adults and children are welcome for our family friendly bug activities. Drop by the Information Office any time between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm.  Booking is not necessary. For more information, please phone 0404-45425.

All above events are free to attend but the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Co.) has a 4 euro charge.

 

Wicklow Man

The Wicklow Man every Tuesday night at the Brockagh Centre from 9.30 p.m.

 

Mobile Library

The mobile library is in Laragh every second Thursday.  The times of the mobile library in Laragh – 12 noon until 12.50pm.  The first 10 minutes are outside the Brockagh Centre and then the mobile library goes down outside Lynhams.  The next date is Thursday 3 July.

AA Meetings

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night.  If you think that you may have a problem with alcohol please come along.
