St. Kevin’s Day

To celebrate St. Kevin’s Day 2015, the Glendalough Hermitage team will offer a varied programme of walks, workshops and speakers on Saturday 6 June. The cost of the day is 25 euro and includes tea/coffee. Car Boot Sale

The next Car Boot Sale will take place on Sunday 7 June. Always great new and nearly new clothes and accessories, food items and much more. Vans must be booked in. Car park spaces for the next month or so will be limited so please pre-book indoor spaces early. Contact the Brockagh Centre on 0404-45600.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp will be back on Tuesday 8 June at 8.15 pm. This class offers a really great varied workout which keeps people coming back.

Pioneer Vigil

Wicklow Annual Pioneer Vigil takes place in St. Kevin’s Church Laragh on Friday 12. June. Mass at 7p.m. follow by reflection & Benediction. All are very welcome.

Bug Day

Come and meet some of the National Park’s mini-creatures on Saturday 6th June. Adults and children are welcome for our family friendly bug activities, which include a treasure hunt. Drop by the Information Office any time between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm. Booking is not necessary. For more information, please phone 0404-45425.

Nature Explorers

Nature Explorers is a new outdoor programme which aims to teach children (aged 5 to 11 years) to identify and appreciate the natural world. Meet at the large National Park sign in the corner of the Upper Lake car park on Thursdays during July and August, starting at 2 p.m. Most activities will take place off track, so please dress accordingly. Adults and children are welcome. Note that an adult must stay with the children, and be prepared to help! No dogs are allowed. Booking is essential and will be taken from 9 am one week prior to each session on 0404-45656 (Monday to Friday).

All above events are free to attend but the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow Co. Co.) has a €4 charge.

Concert in Aid of the Light of Maasai

On Sunday June 14 a fundraising concert will be held in St. Kevin’s Church in Laragh in aid of the Light of Maasai charity. The event is being organised by Michael Ryan from Rathdrum and will feature the Avondale Voices, local soloists and local poet Jane Clarke. The concert starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.

Singing Workshop with US Choir

On Tuesday 16 June we will be welcoming Delaware Women’s Chorus from the US to the Brockagh Resource Centre. The members range in age from 21 to 78 years. Joanne, the director of the choir, is hoping to hold a workshop with some local singers and then have both groups perform together followed by a light lunch. Community Garden for newsletter
The garden in the village is coming on slowly but surely. The garden course finished last month and another one can be run if people are interested.The potatoes have sprouted, their are still areas available for more potatoes at 5 euro. Scoil Caoimhin Naofa planted thirty potatoes with the younger classes and these are also starting to sprout. Everyone is welcome to visit the garden, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Sign up at the Brockagh. Compost bay in the garden is empty and available for any grass cuttings that people want to get rid of. Hopefully the good weather continues and we get to enjoy the garden. Its open Friday between 10 and 1, and most Thursday evenings between 5 and 6 p.m.

Dance to the music of the Wicklow Man every Tuesday night at the Brockagh Centre from 9.30 p.m

AA Meetings

Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night. If you think that you may have a problem with alcohol please come along.
