Free Seminar on Muscular Pains/Aches
|
Elena Rodriguez will hold a free seminar on "Tips to Treat Muscular Pains and Aches" at 6 pm on 15th December in the Brockagh Centre. There will be a 45 minute talk and demonstration of different ways to deal with muscle pain at home and a 15 minute presentation of her local business, Soul in Hands Massage Therapy and the benefits of massage. All who attend will have the opportunity to buy, if they wish, massage vouchers for half the normal price (e.g. a full body massage which is usually €60 can be bought for €30). This would be a lovely Christmas present for yourself or others. The seminar will be facilitated in a relaxed manner. For more details phone Elena on 086-3283658.

Citizens Information - Xmas & New Year

The Citizens Information Centre at the Brockagh Resource Centre is open for information relating to your rights and entitlements from 10 am until noon on Tuesdays 6th and 20th December. The first clinic of 2011 will take place on Tuesday 17th January. |

Christmas Carols in the Monastic City

Join us on Tuesday 20th December at 7.30 pm for a unique event to celebrate Christmas. Beginning with a candlelit procession from the gates of the Monastic City, we will proceed to the ruins of the cathedral where a choir and other musicians will join us in an evening of traditional carol singing in the monastic style |

The Marie Foundation Mobile Unit and nurse will be at the Brockagh Centre on Tuesday 6th December from 10.30 a.m. until 2.30 p.m. The Marie Keating Foundation, works to beat cancer through awareness, education and support services. Everyone is welcome to come to the Brockagh Centre at 11 a.m. where Ursula Clancy from the Marie Keating Foundation will give a talk about cancer or you may wish to visit the mobile unit which will be in the car park for information and support. |

There was a great crowd and ‘buzz’ at the Christmas Craft Fair on the 13th November with plenty of people shopping for Christmas. Our last two Christmas Craft and Gift Fairs at the Brockagh Centre take place on Sunday 4th and 11th December from 11am until 4pm. |

Fireside Sessions Our monthly fireside sessions are becoming increasingly popular – the next takes place from 7 to 9 pm on Friday 28th October in Glendalough Green (top shop) with music, chat and much more. The fireside session on Friday November 25th will take place by the fireside in Lynham's (7 to 9 pm) and features Leslie Dowdall (acclaimed Irish singer and performer) and company. This free drug awareness course, for parents, grandparents, guardians and other adults with teenagers and pre-teens, is an excellent source of up-to-date information on drugs and their effects. |

The Buala Bus, the County Wicklow Playbus Project, will be in the Brockagh Centre car park on Wednesday 26th October (cancelled on 26th due to mechanical problems) and Wednesdays 2nd and 16th November from 1.30 to 3.30 pm. |

November Mid-term Workshops for Children
|
ImaginationGYM® Workshops ImaginationGYM® will be running 2 workshops for children (6 to 12 years) in the Brockagh Centre during the Halloween break. Children will access their own creativity and imagination through storytelling and artistic activities in a relaxed and fun environment. Workshops take place on Tuesday 1st November and Thursday 3rd November (11 am to 12.30 pm). The cost is €12 for each child for each date. Children can attend one or both workshops. Footfalls Wicklow Walking Festival takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 28th to Sunday 31st October. Events include a selection of challenging, moderate and easy day and night walks - all led by experienced leaders who will enhance your walk with information on local history, flora and fauna. |

Upcoming Events at National Park
|
Deer Rut Watch National Park staff will have telescopes set up on the Spinc walking trail between 11 am and 4 pm on Saturday 15th October and will be available to discuss the Park’s wild deer and their ecology. |

The Citizen’s Information Centre at the Brockagh Centre is open on 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. The next dates are Tuesday 4th and 18th October from 10am until 12 noon for information relating to your rights and entitlements. No appointment necessary. This is a free and confidential service.

The next Country & Craft Market takes place on Sunday 9th October and we will have our usual array of home baking, crafts and gifts. The last car boot sale of 2011 will take place on Sunday 6th November come along a grab yourself a bargain. Many new and nearly new items. Tea, coffee and home baking. Vans must be booked in. Contact the centre 0404-45600 or come up on the morning open from 11 to 4pm and from 9am for traders. |
