| Synge Summer Shcool presents Patrick McCabe - Sat 3 July | ||
| Synge Summer School presents Patrick McCabe, author and playwright, reading from his works, in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh, Co. Wicklow on Saturday 3 July, 2010 at 8p.m. McCabe’s books include The Butcher Boy and Breakfast on Pluto, both shortlisted for the Booker Prize. He has also written a children's book (The Adventures of Shay Mouse) and several radio plays broadcast by the RTÉ and the BBC Radio 4. The Butcher Boy and Breakfast on Pluto have both been adapted into films by Irish director Neil Jordan. He wrote a collection of linked short stories, Mondo Desperado. The play Frank Pig Says Hello, which he adapted from The Butcher Boy, was first performed at the Dublin Theatre Festival in 1992. His next book, The Stray Sod County, will be published in October 2010 by Bloomsbury. Call (0404) 43149 and leave a message regarding ticket bookings and price. | ||
