Clean Up

Our first clean up will start on March 6th, at 10am. With social distancing strictly followed by everyone participating. You can also help by working on your own garden, with biodiversity in mind, supporting ecological life by attracting insects/bees etc.

Keeping our countryside litter free

It is that time of year again where we see an increase in rubbish and litter thrown around our beautiful woodland areas. We urge any campers in the coming months of Summer to LEAVE NO TRACE(when the restriction  of 5km is lifted). Camping is something enjoyed by many and we would not like to see this activity causing harm to wildlife and the environment.

Age & Opportunity

FitLine Age & Opportunity are delighted to announce that they are expanding their FitLine initiative in 2021 to reach more older adults right across the country. They are looking for more volunteer mentors, individuals or groups, to join our FitLine team, to help them deliver this very worthwhile initiative. FitLine, one of their Active programme initiatives, is a volunteer peer led telephone-based motivation line which encourages older adults to introduce physical activity into their daily lives. FitLine is designed to help people who want to feel a bit healthier but just don’t have the motivation, confidence or information on where and how to take that first step. FitLine mentor volunteers are required to provide encouragement and ideas about how older adults can do simple physical activities as part of their day to day routine to suit their own lifestyle, and to provide information about clubs, groups and facilities in their own communities. Download and fill in the FitLine mentor volunteer application form at https://ageandopportunity.ie/about-age-and-opportunity/get-involved/
